Keep a journal you can file and copy

Start with the date and a few words. Memobound’s daily notes give you a place for observations, photos, and longer entries in documents you control.

Choose a small template

Use prompts that invite a specific entry. What happened, what you noticed, and what you want to revisit are enough. Remove a prompt if it starts to feel like a form you have to complete.

Create today’s note from the app or a widget. Add entries through the day or write once in the evening. There is no streak requirement in the product design.

Decide where the journal lives

Keep it in On My iPhone for a local working copy, or choose iCloud Drive to use it on another Apple device. Device backup settings are separate from that choice.

Use app lock and hide widget previews for casual privacy. Ordinary notebook files remain readable through other apps with access to the folder. Password-encrypted notes have different portability and recovery tradeoffs, described on the privacy page.

Keep a readable archive

Export a month as PDF for reading, or keep Markdown documents and original attachments for editing. Check that photographs and recordings are included before storing the backup.

A journal does not need automatic analysis to be useful. Optional local summaries are a separate feature on supported devices, and the original entries remain the source.
