Keep a daily note without making more work

A daily note is a place to put small observations before they disappear. Start with a date and a few prompts, then remove anything you do not use.

Choose three useful sections

Try an observation, something to remember, and a next step. You can write a paragraph or a list. Keep the format small enough to use on a busy day.

# Date

## What happened

A few lines about the day.

## What I noticed

An idea, detail, or question worth keeping.

## What to come back to

- A next step or a link to another note

Keep a predictable location

Use one journal folder and put the date in each title. If you want a monthly index, make a note with links rather than combining every entry into one long document.

In Memobound, use the daily-note action or a widget to open today's page. Add a photo or voice note when it contributes something you cannot easily describe. Avoid collecting material only because the app can hold it.

Review a week at a time

Look for an unfinished thought or an item that belongs in a project notebook. Link the daily entry to that project instead of copying it into several places. The original date keeps its context.

A summary you write yourself is enough. Optional on-device assistance can suggest a draft on supported devices, but it should not replace the original entry.

Keep a separate archive

Choose local storage or iCloud Drive deliberately. Export readable copies at an interval that suits the material and check the attachments. Hide previews or lock the app if other people use your device, remembering that ordinary exported files can be opened elsewhere.

Explore journaling, review storage, and back up notes.

Made for your own notes

Keep your notes in your own files.
