Choose where your notes are stored

Memobound writes documents on your device or in your chosen iCloud Drive location. You do not create a Memobound account, and we do not operate a service that stores your notebooks.

Local storage is a choice

On My iPhone and On My iPad keep the working documents on that device. Device backups are a separate setting. A local notebook may still be included in an Apple device backup if your backup settings allow it.

An iCloud Drive notebook uses Apple storage and your Apple Account. That is optional cloud storage, not a claim that the notebook never leaves the device. Copies sent through Mail, Messages, or other apps follow those services' behavior.

Lock the app and protect previews

The app lock uses Face ID, Touch ID, or the device passcode. It keeps someone using the unlocked device from casually opening Memobound. It does not encrypt an ordinary document exported to Files or prevent another app with file access from reading that document.

Separate password-encrypted notes are available in the beta. They use an encrypted document container and are excluded from search, Spotlight, widgets, and previews while locked. Exporting a readable copy removes that container’s protection. There is no developer password-recovery service.

Keep a separate, secure copy of the password. We cannot recover an encrypted note if you lose it.

Processing happens on the device

The search index, scan recognition, and supported audio transcription stay on the device. Opening a website, downloading language assets, optional iCloud transfer, and contacting support still involve a connection.
