Turn a recording into a note you can use
A recording preserves the words. A short, checked summary makes them easier to act on. Keep both when the exact wording matters.
Prepare the recording
Get the necessary permission before recording another person. Choose a quiet position and check the microphone. In Memobound, start recording inside the note so the audio stays with the relevant project or meeting.
Write a title and a few markers during the session. They make it easier to find the passage later, even if transcription is unavailable.
Use local transcription where supported
Memobound transcribes on the device when its system version, hardware, language, and downloaded speech assets support it. If those requirements are not met, keep the audio and add text manually. The app does not automatically upload a recording to a remote transcription service.
Apple describes on-device transcription with SpeechAnalyzer. Support is not identical for every device and language, so check the beta's availability message before depending on a transcript.
Correct the parts that matter
Replay names, numbers, dates, and quoted sentences. Overlapping speakers and technical vocabulary can cause errors. Mark uncertain text rather than letting a plausible transcription become an unchecked fact.
Create a separate summary of decisions and next steps. Keep that summary editable and retain the original recording as the reference.
Share a deliberate copy
Choose whether to send the audio, transcript, or summary. Review personal information and material that was not intended for a wider audience. A PDF summary does not automatically include a playable copy of the recording.
Explore audio notes, use the meeting template, and check export formats.
