Keep the recording beside your notes
Record a thought, an interview, or a lecture you have permission to record. Memobound attaches the audio to the note you are working on, with playback and timestamped text markers.
Record and listen offline
Recording and playing a local audio file do not require a Memobound account or an upload. Pause and resume a recording, name it, and keep your typed observations nearby. Microphone permission is requested when you start recording.
An interruption, low storage, or an incoming call can affect a recording. The interface shows recording status and preserves completed audio segments. Check the result before relying on it.
Transcribe where the device supports it
The transcript feature uses on-device speech recognition for supported hardware, system versions, and languages. Required language assets may need to download first. There is no automatic fallback that sends audio to a cloud transcription provider.
If transcription is unavailable, keep recording, listen back, and add text yourself. Transcripts can mishear names, numbers, overlapping voices, and technical terms. Edit the text and check quotations against the audio.
Share only what you choose
Export the recording, the transcript, or a note PDF separately. Review the contents before sharing with someone who was not present. A transcript is editable text, not a certified record or a guarantee of speaker identification.
Apple describes its on-device approach in SpeechAnalyzer. The beta shows whether transcription is available for your device and language.
