Choose a notes app around the work you do
The best notes app for you is the one that supports the material you keep and the way you return to it. Test a small real notebook before moving the whole library.
Decide where the working notes should live
Choose between a product account, an app-managed local library, and documents visible in Files. Ask whether sync is optional, which service handles it, and what is available without a connection.
Memobound uses local documents or iCloud Drive. It is not the only app with offline support. The comparisons explain the differences and link the source documentation.
Use a realistic test notebook
Create one long note, a checklist, a table, a scan, and a PDF attachment. Add handwriting or audio if you use it. Link two notes and move one to another folder. Search for something inside an attachment.
Disconnect and repeat the tasks you need while travelling or studying. Check that the files were downloaded, not merely listed.
Test getting your work out
Export the notebook and open the result elsewhere. Check attachments, titles, dates, and internal links. Make a backup and try restoring a copy into a separate notebook.
A cloud library, local database, and file-based notebook can all have useful export tools. Evaluate the actual result rather than deciding from the storage label alone.
Match the rest of the workflow
Choose an established shared workspace if live collaboration is central. Choose a handwriting-focused workflow if most of your work is ink on pages. Try a file-based iOS notebook if you want mixed notes and attachments in Apple document storage.
Memobound is testing on TestFlight. Use copies while evaluating the beta, and check device requirements and feature availability in the invitation. Paid pricing has not been announced.
