Find the note and the material in it

Start with the words you remember. Memobound searches titles, note text, tags, recognized scan text, PDF text, and available audio transcripts on your device.

Narrow a search

Filter by notebook, folder, tag, date, attachment type, or unfinished checklist items. Search an exact phrase when a common word gives too many results. Save a useful combination as a smart collection, such as project notes with open tasks.

Results show the matching text and its note so you can judge relevance before opening it. Search is based on indexed content. It does not guarantee that an image’s meaning or an untranscribed recording is searchable.

Know what has been indexed

Local documents can be indexed without a network connection. An iCloud document must be downloaded first. Large imports and scan recognition can take time, so the status separates indexing in progress from no results.

The index can be rebuilt from the documents. Removing it does not remove the notes. You can still open the files while the index is rebuilt.

Choose whether notes appear in Spotlight

Optional Spotlight integration is for finding notes from the Home Screen. You control whether note information is shared with the system index. Locked content is excluded, along with previews in widgets and notifications.

App search and Spotlight are different indexes and can return different results. Search inside Memobound when you need the most complete view of a notebook.
