Have a way back

A useful notebook needs more than a save button. Memobound includes local revision history, deliberate backups, and a way to review conflicting document versions.

Review earlier edits

The history view keeps local snapshots after meaningful edits. Open an earlier version, compare it with the current document, and restore it as a copy. Snapshots consume device space, so their retention and storage use are visible.

Local history is not an independent backup. Losing the device or deleting the app’s documents can remove those revisions too. History also does not promise a complete record of edits made by another application.

Copy the notebook to another location

Export a dated notebook archive to a computer, external drive, or separate Files location. Include attachments. Open a few exported notes and files to verify that the backup is usable.

iCloud Drive sync keeps changes moving between devices, including deletions. It is not a separate archive of every past state. Apple documents how deleting an iCloud Drive file affects other devices.

Keep both sides of a conflict

If two devices edit the same document while disconnected, the conflict workflow keeps both versions and lets you choose or combine them. It does not silently treat the latest timestamp as proof that one version is correct.

Avoid editing the same document on two devices until the latest changes have arrived. The notebook status helps identify downloads, uploads, and conflicts that need attention.
