UpNote or Memobound without another account

UpNote can work locally without an account. With an account, it syncs through its service. Memobound offers local documents or optional iCloud Drive as the storage choice.

When UpNote fits

UpNote suits people who want a consistent notes app across several operating systems. Its local mode already works without sign-in. Its documentation says iCloud is not its sync backend.

When Memobound fits

Memobound fits an Apple document workflow. You can open the notebook location in Files, copy documents, and back up the folder. Switching on iCloud Drive uses Apple storage rather than creating an UpNote-style sync account.

Compare the workflow before the price

Try exporting representative text, attachments, and linked notes from UpNote. Check which structure survives in your preferred export format. Keep an independent copy before making changes. Memobound has not announced paid pricing, so any cost comparison would be premature.
