When Notion fits
Notion fits workflows built around shared pages, databases, and a common workspace. As of the review date, it supports offline pages in its desktop and mobile apps on all plans. Downloading a page does not automatically download every subpage.
When Memobound fits
Memobound suits a personal project record, research notebook, or daily journal where documents in Files are the preferred storage model. Core editing and search run locally. You can keep iCloud off or use it for a notebook without creating another product account.
A database is more than a note
If you are moving a Notion collection, test the export of a small project first. Relations, views, permissions, and automated workflows do not become equivalent features in a Markdown notebook. Keep a separate record of anything you need outside the exported pages.
