When Notesnook fits
Notesnook is worth considering when encrypted sync across different operating systems is the main requirement. Its product is open source and offers web clipping and linked notes. It should not be grouped with services that make no encrypted-sync claim.
When Memobound fits
Memobound suits people who want control through document locations and ordinary exports. A local notebook does not send notes to a developer-operated sync service. An iCloud notebook uses Apple storage, and exported files follow the destination you choose.
Match protection to the document
Local storage, app lock, and end-to-end encrypted sync describe different protections. Ordinary TextBundle documents are readable files. Password-encrypted notes need an encrypted container, while readable exports need separate care. Choose based on the material you keep and the devices you use.
