When Goodnotes fits
Goodnotes fits a workflow centered on handwriting, marking up PDFs, or its established study and collaboration tools. Test the features you depend on rather than assuming two drawing tools behave alike.
When Memobound fits
Memobound is useful when handwritten material belongs alongside typed research, saved articles, checklists, and ordinary attachments. The notebook is a file collection you can copy and archive. Apple Pencil support complements the text workflow.
Preserve a readable original
Export representative handwritten pages and annotated PDFs before moving. A flattened PDF can preserve the appearance while losing editable ink. Keep the original documents if you may need to revise strokes or app-specific objects later. Memobound does not promise native Goodnotes document editing.
